Huge food celebration Taste of Auckland will take over the waterfront for its second year in October and November. The festival will see a lineup of food and drink producers assemble for an artisanal market, wineries from all over the country pour the good stuff, live cooking demonstrations from the country's top chefs, and a series of evening concerts set against the harbour.

Ahead of this year's program drop, the 'godfather of modern cooking' Marco Pierre White has been announced to appear at a one-off white tie dinner. The British chef and TV personality, together with his executive chef Andrew Bennett and a selection of New Zealand chefs, will cook for around 400 diners on Thursday, 31 October. Tickets to the event — priced from $350 — include the four-course dinner, matching wines, live entertainment, a charity auction and tickets to Taste of Auckland.

For those who can't manage the ticket price, the famous chef will also be making appearances over the four-day festival, from 31 October to 3 November, 2019.

White became the first British chef and the youngest chef in then Michelin history to be awarded three Michelin stars at age 32. Over the course of his 17-year cooking career, he trained notable chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal, Curtis Stone and Shannon Bennett. He has also published several books including White Heat and appeared on TV shows Hell's Kitchen and Masterchef.

Dine With Marco Pierre White will take place on Thursday, 31 October, 2019. Tables and individual seats are available from $350 by emailing [email protected]. Taste of Auckland 2019 takes place from Thursday, 31 October to Sunday, 3 November, 2019
