Overview
It's certainly the week to be a sweet-toothed Kiwi — if you missed out on the first sell-out pop-up from cookie makers Sugar and Tempt, the bikkies that took Aotearoa by storm are finally back.
Home baker and Sugar and Tempt founder Tiffany Sua told Concrete Playground she wasn't prepared for the response when she launched the first pop-up back in October, just using social media to sell her giant chunky, 'New York-style' cookies packed with nuts, chocolate and other goodies.
Over 1000 cookies were sold in just a couple of days, and Sua even ended up having to ship boxes out of Auckland, to Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. You probably saw the mouth-watering pics all over your social media feed.
Well, this week they're back, and the frenzy has already begun. Round two of Sua's Sugar and Tempt cookie pop-up will take place from Saturday, November 27 until Monday, November 29, with pre-orders already open on Sugar and Tempt's freshly done-up website.
Once again the cookies come in packs of six, although this time there's a brand new flavour added to the line-up: NYC Gooey Biscoff, loaded with Biscoff spread, white couverture chocolate, and crushed Lotus biscuits.
For purists, the original Chunky Chocolate and Walnut are also available, packed with masses of chocolate and roasted walnut pieces. When we say these cookies are more like a meal, we're really not joking.
Pre-orders are open on Sugar and Tempt's website now, with delivery promised within Auckland on Saturday and Sunday, and dispatched wider around the country on Monday. If you'd prefer to pick them up — you can collect your cookies from Sugar and Tempt's Lynfield HQ on Monday, November 29.
And for those concerned, Sua said she "refuses" to sell out this time around, with a doubled capacity of cookies. That means you could even get an extra box for a friend. Or not.
Sugar and Tempt's second New York Cookie pop-up will run from Saturday November 27, until Monday, November 29. To order your cookies now, head to the website.
