Taco Bell Will Open 60 Restaurants Across New Zealand and Australia in the Next Five Years
The first new stores are expected to open next year.
Last year, US Tex-Mex chain Taco Bell quietly opened a test store in Brisbane. Now, it's planning to rapidly expand across both Australia and New Zealand with a slew of new stores.
Taco Bell's parent company Restaurant Brands, which also holds the rights to KFC, Carl's Jnr, Pizza Hut and Starbucks in New Zealand, made the announcement to the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) this morning that it had reached an agreement to bring the food chain to New Zealand and Australia's New South Wales.
Restaurant Brands already owns upwards of 30 Taco Bell stores throughout Hawaii and Guam. The agreement reached with Taco Bell Restaurants Asia will see the construction of more than 60 new Taco Bell restaurants in NZ and Australia from January 2019 through June 2024.
While the exact opening dates haven't yet been revealed, fans of burritos, quesadillas, nachos and, of course, tacos, can expect to start munching away before next summer hits.
