You'll find them at supermarkets and convenience stories around the country.

New Zealand has scored some pretty high-quality ice creams this summer. Vegan Magnums are hitting the freezer-aisle shelves in supermarkets and convenience stores this February. The ice creams, available in either dairy-free Classic or Almond, are made using pea protein, which sounds kind of strange, but we're certainly willing to give them a crack.

There's no word on how long these dairy-free delights are going to hang around for (we're hoping they're in for the long haul), but to celebrate, a sunset picnic is being held at Takapuna Beach Reserve on Thursday, 28 February with free ice cream for all. Guests are asked to bring their own picnic dinner, while dessert will be provided in the form of the new vegan Magnums. There will also be games, drinks and a photo moment.

Register your attendance here. Spaces are limited.
