You've heard of a chocolate hot cross bun, but what about a hot cross bun in chocolate form?

New Zealand's homegrown chocolatier, Whittaker's, is releasing a special Easter treat next month for those looking for something other than hallow eggs and bunnies to indulge in. While February might seem a little early to be planning your Easter egg hunt and lining up Auckland's best hot cross bun, it's never not the right time to indulge in Whittaker's chocolate.

Whittaker's Choc Cross Bun Block fuses two of the best parts of Easter — hot cross buns and chocolate, of course — into one creamy block. Whittaker's classic milk chocolate is flavoured with raisins, spices and orange oil to capture the sweet citrus flavours of a traditional hot cross bun.

The limited edition chocolate block is a great alternative for adults who may not be interested in the admin involved in an Easter egg hunt. Like all of Whittaker's range, this block will be crafted at the Whittaker's factory in Porirua.

The special Easter chocolate follows Whittaker's recent festive season limited release, a milk chocolate Candy Cane Block sprinkled with peppermint-flavoured candy canes.

The Whittaker's Choc Cross Bun Block will be available in stores across Aotearoa from Monday, February 5. The 250g block is a limited edition product and will only be available while stocks last.
