300 souls gathered at Auckland's Hopetoun Alpha on Saturday, October 29 to celebrate all things Halloween and Budweiser at the High Council of the Cursed. Highlights included a human hot sauce, deadly looking Trump lookalikes, a walking, talking, dancing pineapple and some ghastly (in a good way) beats from Ha the Unclear, SoccerPractise and Ghostwave. Comedian Jamie Bowen ran the show as chief councillor and there were some disturbing performances from Drew Blood and Busty Springfield. The night's beats were mixed together by a certain Tina Turntables.
It was a fitting event to round off our Against the Grain series which saw four talented Auckland creatives championed as part of Budweiser's latest campaign. And thanks to Budweiser, we were able to invite some lucky Concrete Playground winners to the event, with one group winning a $300 First Scene voucher as well as Lavinia (below) winning a plastic surgery botch up makeup session with Hello Tanya.
A big thanks to Monster Valley for producing the event.
