Overview

If only more restaurants embraced a risqué pun for their name, the World/Auckland's foodie scene would be a rather more happy and light hearted place. Jokes aside, Thai Me Up is the quintessential Thai BYO - cheap, tasty as hell and tolerant (ish) of the sometimes loose behaviour.

Thai Me Up has delicious meals under 15 bucks - it takes me instantly back to the wonderful street food of Khao San Road in Bangkok. Set in a quirky building halfway down Ponsonby Road, you probably wont be hustled for a massage or a new suit here, well at least not in my experience.

Money bags, Massaman curry, and nobody can really can go past a good Pad Thai. Thai Me Up's menu is filled with buzzy names like 'Star Drifter', 'Spicy Girl' and 'Green Paradise'.

Situated perfectly amongst the Pons buzz, it is a great way to begin your night in the big city.
