Overview

Icon is an unexpected delight of a place. Set on 12 acres of land in Moutere, half an hour out of Nelson, you can easily spend half a day here, wandering through the sculpture park and native sculpture garden, galleries and working studios where you might see the likes of a greenstone carver or a painter at work. Artist Neville Parker created Icon as a place for the enjoyment of all forms of art, the garden reflects Parker's interest in both monumental sculpture and love of smaller household object art.

Parker has been working full time as an artist since 1995 and has had five galleries in the past 19 years in Auckland and Marlborough. Icon Sculpture Garden was created to give art enthusiasts a chance to appreciate sculpture in an interactive, hands-on way.
