Overview
Tucked into Tongariro National Park, the Taranaki Falls Track is a laid-back loop offering more than a few spectacular vistas.
The headline act is the namesake falls, which rise to 20 metres and crash over an ancient lava flow created from a volcanic eruption that occurred over 15,000 years ago.
With the track divided into upper and lower sections with the falls in the middle, this six-kilometre journey makes for an easygoing trek rich in natural beauty.
