Auckland just got a whole lot whiter and brighter with the arrival of The Whitening Co — New Zealand's first dedicated teeth whitening studio.

Building on the popularity of their home whitening kits and inspired by top day spas and stores around the world, the slick space set in the rapidly up-and-coming Eden Terrace area boasts luxe leather loungers, noise cancelling headphones, free wifi, a phone brace and charger to ensure you're super comfy while getting your glow on.

The Whitening Co co-founder Kennedy Anderson says, "When we saw a gap in the market with at-home whitening kits and off the back of the success of our online store, we recognised that we could apply the same core values to cosmetic whitening, to help more people smile with confidence."

Anderson says the contemporary design of the space drew on brands like Off-White and Aesop.

"The brand needed to be minimal, purposeful and beautiful to communicate our offering clearly. We chose black to set ourselves apart from your conventional dental white. Our agency delivered the brand with a ten-page document on this."

The location was equally considered: "Eden Terrace is a unique, edgy, up-coming part of town, we feel like the store location is a direct reflection of our brand," says Anderson.

Manager director Ruby Mills says clients can expect their teeth to be on average around five shades whiter after a treatment, "however as everyone's teeth are different we have seen some outstanding results that have left people's smiles up to nine shades whiter."

Packages start from $149 and last from 30 minutes for a touch-up to 60 minutes for first timers, or book out the whole studio for four or more and make a party of it (Anderson says they've already booked their first bridal parties), with champagne provided.

Once you're done, there's even a dedicated powder room to ensure you're back to looking your best after treatment.
