Uber Will Deliver Kittens to Your Office Today, Really

We're not kitten you.

Overview

Cats and cars aren’t traditionally regarded as a happy combination. But now, in a strike against that preconceived notion, Uber have teamed up with SPCA Auckland to bring a little soft, warm bundle of joy to you via automobile.

Simply put, between 12-4pm today Uber will be offering a “KITTENS” option within the app - and for $30 buckaroos you’ll get 15 minutes of cuddle time with kittens. I am not kitten you. Yes, it is the purrfect situation. Caturday has arrived.

Boosting their cool cat credentials, Uber will be donating all proceeds to support SPCA Auckland and Wellington, so really, you’re winning either way.  And maybe, just maybe, you might want to adopt your new friend (or one just like him/her). Wouldn’t that be a nice thing on a Friday?

As demand is likely to be astronomical we suggest being primed and ready to hit go – and be patient.  Of course should heaven bestow this blessing upon you, it would be advisable to have cleared it in advance with the boss, and have a dedicated, enclosed, safe area for them to roam during this feline friendly time. Keeping allergic co-workers away might also be an idea (but really, they’re probably already crying alone somewhere).

Regarding logistics, Uber advises:

How to get your kitten fix:

  1. Open your Uber app between 12pm and 4pm on Friday
  2. Request the "KITTENS" option in your app.
  3. Once the kittens arrive, you and your friends will enjoy 15 minutes of kitten cuteness!
