It's been quite the year. And we're guessing right about now you're looking for an opportunity to take a break. The problem is that we're still quite restricted on where we can actually go. International travel is still off the cards for a little while, but rather than letting that dampen your spirits, we suggest refocusing that wanderlust energy to somewhere a little closer to home. Like, actually home.

Auckland businesses are doing it tough right now, so, in partnership with Tourism New Zealand, we're encouraging you to rediscover the beauty of your own backyard. And we're doing that by giving away an epic staycation on Waiheke Island. The winner — and their lucky chosen person — will score a two-night stay at waterfront boutique hotel The Boatshed. Across the weekend, you'll enjoy the 4.5-hour Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari, the five-hour Double Headland Walk guided by Walking by Nature, and a full-day jaunt with EcoZip Adventures, which includes ziplining, a native forest walk, lunch at a vineyard and wine tastings at a couple more spots. You'll also get ferry passes to the island and back, of course.

So, how do you snag this epic prize? First, head to Instagram and upload a photo of your favourite spot or thing to do in Auckland with #DoSomethingNewNZ and tag both @concreteplaygroundauckland and @purenewzealand. It could be making new furry friends at Auckland Zoo or pushing your limits with a SkyJump at the Sky Tower. If it makes you love where you live, we want to know about it. Then, head back here and enter your details below.
