With 80 percent of tickets snapped up before the first lineup drop, Rhythm and Vines is once again one of the most anticipated events of festival season. Organisers have finally lifted the lid on the first roll call of acts, with 32 (out of a total 100) local and international performers confirmed to hit Gizzy for the country's longest-running music festival.

British electronic duo Disclosure will be tasked with bringing 20,000 punters to the Vines dancefloor on the opening night. That shouldn't be an issue for the brothers who boast back-to-back Grammy nominations and a slew of A-list collaborations on their resumé, from Sam Smith to Khalid and Lorde. Expect to hear bangers like 'Latch', 'Omen' and 'Magnets'.

The pair are joined at the top of the bill by Sydney-born singer, producer, songwriter and DJ Alison Wonderland. Scheduled in the all-important New Year's Eve slot, her futuristic dance tracks will ring through Waiohika Estate to welcome 2020.

Other acts set to hit the stage during the three-day festival include American trap producer RL Grime, drum and bass DJ Wilkinson in his fifth appearance, RAM Records head honcho Andy C, veteran Chicago DJ Green Velvet, Avondale hip hop legends Home Brew, Wellington pop four-piece Drax Project, and local producer supergroup Leisure. Local bands making their debut at R&V include Church & AP, Daffodils, Vayne, Jack Berry, Summer Thieves and Mako Road.

A second and final release of acts is scheduled to be released towards the end of October.

Organisers are expecting final camping passes to be sold out within a few weeks and three-day festival passes to run dry in September. A small allocation of single-day tickets will be released on Thursday, August 15 at 9am.
