Come down and have a proper taste of the Emerald Isle at The Fifth Province Irish Pub, a gastropub in the heart of St Kilda. Step inside and you'd think you've stepped into a pub along Shop Street in Galway or O'Connell Street in Dublin. There are framed old-school Guinness posters on the walls touting the old tagline "My Goodness, My Guinness", plus a carefully crafted wine list, a specialised Irish cocktail menu and an array of local craft beers on tap.
The pub hosts a weekly lineup of classic specials, a banging happy hour and live music most nights during the week and every weekend. Whether you drop in for burger day or trivia on Wednesdays, parma day on Tuesday or fish and chip Friday, you're in for a hearty feed and a buzzing atmosphere.
The menu features a selection of contemporary pub meals and Irish classics that hero Victoria's seasonal produce. You'll find the lesser-known Irish lunch staple, the chicken fillet roll, alongside a braised beef and Guinness stew and an Irish chicken curry. Otherwise, try traditional dishes such as a bacon butty, bangers and mash, and there's even a spice bag with curry sauce.
The local favourite is arguably the Sunday roast lunch. Every Sunday, The Fifth Province puts on a proper roast with all the trimmings; we're talking roast beef, roast potatoes, roast veggies, creamy mash, Yorkshire pudding and jus. All of that for just $36 is a real bargain in this economy. There's also a weekly rotating roast special to try.
The St Kilda hangout has also added a new event space and extension: The Carriage Bar and Beer Garden. The 120-person dedicated event space is a considered extension of the heritage public house, comprised of an indoor dining room, a light-filled outdoor private terrace, and a new dynamic beer garden. The new beer garden will be anchored by a 150-inch screen, bringing fans of all disciplines together to catch the latest match, and the new areas provide comfort in all types of weather.
