Overview

One of Australia's largest Greek festivals, Antipodes is something of an institution. Every year, for more than three decades, it has taken over Lonsdale Street in the CBD with dancing, loukoumades and ouzo — and it shows little sign of slowing down.

This year, the festivities run from Saturday, February 25–Sunday, February 26, featuring live music, DJs, dance and cultural performances, baklava-eating contests and cooking demos. And, of course, all the Greek eats and drinks your stomach can handle. Enjoy a gyros or souvlaki, load up on sticky loukoumades, and unwind with a few Mythos beers and an ouzo or two.

There'll be three dedicated stages showcasing more than 70 hours of entertainment, with renowned songstress Alkistis Protopsalti as this year's headline act. Also on the bill: a 'Zorba 'Till You Drop' competition, carnival rides and extended opening hours for the strip's famed Greek eateries.

What's more, the festival's annual cocktail party is set to return on Saturday evening, overlooking all the action from the mezzanine level of the Greek Centre — limited tickets are available from $120.
