Overview

Melbourne's iconic and historical Heide Museum of Modern Art will host an exhibition that brings together works by contemporary Latin American and Australian artists. Beneath the Surface, Behind the Scenes runs from July 29 until October 22, and explores art's potential to transcend the boundaries of imagination and unveil hidden truths.

The showcase will delve into the multifaceted nature of art as a catalyst for expression. Artists have embraced uncertainty to create critically engaging works that explore and challenge histories, society and nature, imagining new ways of seeing and expressing. Featured artists include Estefanía Peñafiel Loaiza, Berna Reale, and Hayley Millar Baker, whose differing backgrounds and mediums work together to form a cross-cultural dialogue. Expect boundary-pushing, perspective-challenging works that delve far beneath the visual surface.

Tickets are available now and will set you back $22 for adults (kids can enter for free). So start planning an inspiring day at the Heide.
