Overview

This week, you can score a free coffee that's much more than just a free coffee — this cuppa could also help you save a few lives. As part of DonateLife Week, Victorians are being encouraged to take a few seconds to sign up to become an organ donor, and they'll be shouted a coffee for their efforts.

From 7.30–10.30am on Wednesday, July 27, drop by the DonateLife pop-up at Federation Square, register to become an organ and tissue donor, and you'll enjoy a complimentary cuppa. It's an easy, breezy exercise, too, taking less than one minute to sign up — roughly the same time as it takes to down a couple sips of your morning latte.

The push comes as part of the Great Registration Race, which aims to encourage 100,000 extra Aussies to register as organ donors this July and August. Only 22-percent of Victorians are currently registered, which is well below the national average. And, with around 1,750 Australians on the waitlist for a life-saving organ transplant, this could be the most important cup of coffee you enjoy all year.
