Since 2014, The Bearded Tit in Redfern has been a haven for those seeking like-minded people and a few bevvies in a welcoming environment. For almost as long, it's been running Queerbourhood — a weekly queer performance evening of music and art with a dedicated following.

As part of this year's Vivid Sydney, it's upping the ante and showcasing some of the queer scene's most iconic performers alongside some up and coming names from the local scene. So, expect one big celebration of Sydney's queer underground history, with the likes of Nana Miss Koori, Frumpus, Cindy Pastel, Betty Grumble, Adonis and Stelly G all on the bill. Check the socials beforehand, too, because the artists will be interviewed in the run-up to each event so you can learn the stories behind the art.
