The Art of Lunch
Hear First Nations artists chat art and activism over a lunch feast filled with native ingredients.
Overview
If your ideal lunch date is a crew of creatives sharing big ideas and top-notch eats, we've found a Sunday session with your name all over it. Art rental initiative Artbank is teaming up with Yarra Council, plus Fitzroy eatery Rice Paper Scissors, for an inspiring new dining series.
The Art of Lunch will take over the restaurant's Collingwood event space Aunty Kim's on Sunday, August 21 (tickets here), and Sunday, September 18 (tickets here). Joining each event as guests of honour will be talented First Nations artists, who'll talk art and activism, and share insights into their own work.
Peta Clancy and Kent Morris are on the bill for August 21, with photographer Michael Jalaru Torres joining the table for September 18. What's more, you'll get to hear their stories while tucking into a shared feast heroing plenty of native ingredients, courtesy of Rice Paper Scissors Executive Chef Noah Crowcroft. Think, rare wallaby salad starring rosella flower and native pepper berry, and barramundi with Tasmanian pepperleaf and desert lime mayonnaise.
Tickets to the lunches are $50 for First Nations guests or $75 for others, which includes a glass of bubbly on arrival. More drinks are available to purchase from the bar.
