The Best New Venues in Uluwatu in 2026
Uluwatu has changed a lot in the last five years. Many holidayers to Bali are now choosing the Bukit Peninsula as their base — either alongside or instead of Canggu and Seminyak — thanks to Uluwatu’s beaches, surf breaks, rugged coastlines, views and fresh seafood.
Of course, with growing tourism comes increased development, and Uluwatu is constantly announcing new places to wine and dine at, whether on the cliffs of Bingin, along the famed Jalan Labuansait (the main street that takes you through Padang Padang to Suluban), or overlooking the pristine waters of Melasti Beach and beyond.
The culinary diversity is wide: whether you’re keen on local Indonesian dishes, wholesome breakfast bowls, late-night tacos or hearty pastas, Uluwatu has it all. Even major restaurant chains have started making their way to the area — like Lola’s (Canggu), Kynd (Seminyak), Yuki (Canggu) and Motel Mexicola (Seminyak, Canggu). Keep reading to get a taste of the venues that have been opening in Uluwatu lately, from 2024 onwards.
MY DEAR CLARA
Jl. Labuansait No.44, Pecatu
Opening its doors in September 2026, Italian-inspired restaurant My Dear Clara is set to be Uluwatu’s next big thing — especially if the founders’ previous successes in the area are anything to go by. Founded by the same brains behind Lola’s Cantina, Lolita’s and Kala, the new Uluwatu venue brings its signature fun and experiential offering to its newest venture, with open kitchens allowing you to see the cheese and pasta being made in front of your very eyes, as well as crayons and paper-lined tables waiting for your creativity throughout the night.
The My Dear Clara menu centres around fresh produce, fresh flour and house-made dairy — think fresh cheeses like ricotta with honeycomb, small plates like Meatball al Sugo, handmade pasta like Duck Caramelle and perhaps our favourite — the pesto gnocchi. My Dear Clara can seat an impressive 140 people over two spacious levels, and is open from 5pm until late every single day.
MOTEL MEXICOLA
Jalan Pantai Bingin No. 08, Uluwatu
Motel Mexicola is almost a rite of passage in Bali at this point, with incredible meals turning into unforgettable nights at the venue’s Seminyak and Canggu locations. Now, Motel Mexicola has just opened its doors in Uluwatu in July 2026, bringing Mexican feasting and table dancing to Bingin in one of the area’s most talked-about launches yet.
Expect Baja California influences, with street-food go-tos, shareable plates for the crew and tacos in the mix (don’t miss the Golden Arches taco). The group has also added a series of new seafood dishes fit for Uluwatu, like smoked tuna empanadas, prawn aguachile, and a tuna and scallop tiradito. The grog is just as impressive, from margaritas to the Paloma and The Padre Kino (topping red wine with pandan and blood orange soda).
THE BOWL
Jl. Tj. Simah No.99, Pecatu
The Bowl opened in late July 2026 and is an all-day dining and drinking spot complete with a built-in skate bowl. In fact, it’s Bali’s first-ever restaurant with a skate bowl built into it. Grab a skateboard (free of charge) or watch through the netted windows as you have one of the venue’s specialty coffees or signature sips (the Mountblanc Cloud with an espresso shot, orange, vanilla and whipped cream is a favourite). From the same owners of Balisabi Poke Bowl, grab something to eat while you’re there, like the Sushi Burrito or Tuna Tataki Bowl.
The interiors have an industrial feel, decorated with plenty of plants and long, communal wooden tables. The venue is open every day from 7.30am to 10pm, tucked away just off the main road of Bingin and next to the secret entrance to Impossibles Beach.
SALTWOOD
1 Jalan Petra Bingin, Pecatu
Saltwood has been an instant hit since opening in June 2026, but no matter how many people are there, it never quite feels busy and overwhelming given how spread out and inherently relaxing the venue is. Perched on the cliffs of Bingin and overlooking Dreamland Beach, beanbags and wooden seating create the ultimate gathering spot for breakfasts (we recommend the anchovy toast or acai bowl) and sunsets alike.
Whether you face the ocean solo with a book, rally the crew in a circle of beanbags or grab a meal under the sheltered area, this venue is inclusive and laidback, perfect for friends, solo travellers, families, and, most importantly, furry friends. As to be expected with Uluwatu’s epic sunsets, it’s the perfect place to catch a colourful sky after a big day in Bali.
CAVO BAR & BISTRO
Jl. Labuansait, Pecatu
Aussie-owned CAVO Bar & Bistro opened in May 2026. Tucked away through a white archway entrance decorated with flowers, CAVO serves Italian cuisine, including some old family recipes, and is an intimate space with a capacity of just 30 people. It almost makes you forget you’re on Uluwatu’s busiest street, and come nighttime trade, the candlelit, two-seater tables make for a perfect date or catch-up spot with minimal distractions.
The menu is designed to share, with pizzas, salads, pastas, antipasti and signature dishes filling the menu. To start, the Olive Ascolane — fried green olives stuffed with beef and Parmigiano — is a firm favourite. And to finish? You can’t go past the tiramisu, which is inspired by an old family recipe. For max vibes, Thursdays have acoustic sessions from 7.30pm, with vinyl sets from the same time on Fridays.
THE ANTS PANTS
Family Nest Experience Villas, Jl. Labuansait, Jl. Pantai Cemongkak, Pecatu
This one’s for the parents, or friends of parents, who want to keep everyone entertained and included during the Bali holiday. The Ants Pants Uluwatu opened in early 2026 and is a family-friendly, cafe-style restaurant with a large pool area and sun loungers (starting from 150K IDR, fully redeemable) and a big outdoor playground. For breakfast, choose from acai bowls, creamy scramble, a salmon and cheese bagel, shakshuka and more. For lunch and dinner, you’ll have the option of salads, pizzas, burgers, and grilled fish, to name a few, while the kids can enjoy mini pizzas, pancakes, and Kids’ Nasi Goreng.
Situated near Bingin Beach and Dreamland Beach, The Ants Pants is an extension of Family Nest Resort & Villas and the Pangolin Kids Club next door, which also has a nanny hire service. Bali has excellent local nannies throughout the island, who are also welcome. So, if you want some alone time by the pool or restaurant, or head close by to the likes of El Kabron with the comfort of knowing your little one is near with someone you can trust, it’s a great option.
OSTERIA LUNA
Jl. Pantai Padang-Padang No.140, Pecatu
Osteria Luna is part of Pulau Projects — the same masterminds behind the Japanese favourite in Bali, Yuki, which opened its Uluwatu venue in 2023 just next door. This Italian restaurant is one of those places you go to try, but then find yourself coming back for more, thanks in no small part to what we’re calling the best pasta we’ve had in the Bukit Peninsula. For lunch, Osteria Luna has a 250K IDR promo (just under $20 AUD) that gets you a pasta and either a wine or a cocktail, with gluten-free options available.
We’d recommend the prawn spaghetti or beef ragu in the outdoor seating area to people-watch before walking down to the warungs underneath Single Fin to watch the surfers during sunset. Come dinner time, the venue becomes a candle-lit ambient space perfect for a meal that’s a little more elevated.
2ROOTS BALI
Jl. Ktr. PIR, Pecatu
2Roots opened its doors in late 2025 and is something truly different in Uluwatu. The shed-like cafe is one of two around a lake near the Pecatu Indah Resort shortcut to Bingin, and just minutes from Dreamland Beach if you’re looking for a pre- or post-swim feed. It’s a peaceful escape where you can pull up a fold-out chair and relax overlooking the lake, or you can sit inside the open-air venue.
2Roots is definitely more of a breakfast, brunch or lunch spot (open from 7am to 7pm daily), serving cafe classics like multiple twists on eggs, smoothie and granola bowls, and fresh salads (the peri-peri chicken bowl is perfect if you want something tasty yet not too heavy). The juices are also super refreshing in the Bali humidity — we love the Vital Green with apple, pok choy, celery, ginger, cucumber and lime, or the Radiant Boost with watermelon, pineapple, carrot, ginger and lime.
ULU FISHMARKET
Jl. Labuansait No.10, Pecatu
Ulu Fishmarket has quickly become a Pecatu staple since it opened in 2024, offering — as the name suggests — fresh seafood dishes in a laid-back open-air setting. The OG is on the main strip between Suluban Beach and Thomas Beach — and now, as of October 2026, there’s a new Bingin venue too — making it the perfect one to add to your itinerary for either lunch or dinner.
For fish lovers, choose your catch as you like it: whether grilled, cajun or sautéed Mahi Mahi or Snapper on a plate or in a brioche burger, with sides like veggies, salad or french fries. For those who love raw fish, sashimi, sushi and poke bowls are also firm favourites at the venue.
Don’t love fish? That’s okay too — choose from chicken, wagyu and shiitake mushroom dishes in the likes of pastas, salads, burritos and more. While lunch doesn’t get too crowded, Ulu Fishmarket hosts live music nights that can pack out come dinner time, so plan ahead by checking out their Instagram for what’s on that day.
OLIVERRA
Umana Bali, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Jl. Melasti, Ungasan
Situated within Umana Bali, Oliverra overlooks the stunning Melasti Beach through an elevated, glass-walled setting. The Sunday Brunch is their recommended time to visit, where for 850,000 IDR per person (around $65 AUD), you are treated to a cold seafood platter of river prawns, fresh oysters, papua crabs, coconut-cured seabream, yellowfin tuna and caviar — and that’s just to get you started.
Several courses follow, including selections like lobster scrambled eggs, beef ragout, octopus with beet foam, kale and smoked eggplant, and Wagyu Tokusen Striploin — to name a few. While an 11am–3pm sitting time might seem like a stretch, you could use every minute to get through all the food. Once you’re done, take the complimentary buggy back to the hotel’s front entrance and then head down to Melasti Beach for a dip, whether on the public beach or at one of the beach clubs along the shoreline, like Tropical Temptation or White Rock.
PAPI SAPI
Jl. Labuansait, Pecatu
Papi Sapi joined the main strip of Pecatu in 2024, and has been such a hit that it opened in Kuta Lombok just a year later. The open-air restaurant lets you hand-pick your meat from the window, which gets portioned and cooked on the wood-fired grill — from Australian Angus rib-eye to grilled school prawns and grass-fed tenderloin.
If you’re looking for your protein fix in Bali, the vibe at Papi Sapi is hard to ignore — with a relaxed atmosphere, candlelit tables, fairy lights dangling above you and the Uluwatu breeze powering through as you tuck into steaks, seafood and some seriously good-looking burgers. Papi Sapi is the brainchild of the Artisan Group, also responsible for Artisan venues across Bingin, Ungasan, Suluban and Perenanan.
