Overview
In the middle of the tranquil Kongens Have (Kings Garden) you will find an early 17th century, Renaissance-style palace. Rosenborg Castle offers visitors a glimpse into the grandeur and opulence of Danish royal history.
The 400-year-old castle was built by Christian IV, who resided there for much of his reign. The castle has been immaculately well kept, meaning you can take a step back in history and explore lavishly decorated rooms, like The Knights' Hall adorned with intricate woodwork, tapestries and historical paintings. Then wander through the Royal Treasury, which houses a stunning collection of crown jewels and regal relics. You can buy an entry ticket and explore at your own pace, or join a guided tour.
