The time of year has come to put your Netflix account on hold and venture outdoors to get your motion picture fix. Silo Park has unveiled the program for its seventh season with a jam-packed schedule of films, markets and events taking place under the stars at the waterfront community space.

The 2018 season kicks off from December 21 - 24, 2017 with Christmas at Silo Park. The event will feature the ever-popular Silo bar and food trucks, a performance from the Auckland Gospel Choir and the people's choice film on Friday night. Take your pick from yuletide classics: Love Actually, Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street and Scrooge. In the spirit of Christmas, a giant piñata of donated gifts will be bashed open on the closing night before being presented to the Auckland City Mission.

The lineup of films to screen on the former petrochemical silos includes a selection of freshly released blockbusters and timeless classics. Dust off your picnic rug and head down early to nab a spot for: Thor: Ragnarok, The Princess Bride, The Lion King, Dunkirk, The LabyrinthWonderwoman, Guardians of the GalaxyI Am Not Your Negro, Spookers, La La Land and Trip to Spain.

Early 2018 highlights include an ice cream sundae market on 28 January. The event will see Auckland's top ice creameries come together to scoop the goods. You can expect modern twists on the summer treat, ice cream-inspired drinks from the bar and a roster of food trucks. Elsewhere, the Car Boot Sale of the Future (Without the Cars) on 11 February will offer trinkets, treasures and gems from the garage and beyond, the Aotearoa Steel Band Festival will celebrate all that is great about the Caribbean instrument, and Dog Day Afternoon is a day to spoil your pup.

As always, the Silo bar will be pumping, Food Space will rotate with a collective of food trucks, the resident coffee truck will be in full swing and the DJs will be spinning.
