Curate is a fantastic new ‘fashion gallery’ in Britomart set to launch September 9 2011, which will feature a selection of fashion, shoes, accessories and jewellery from the crème de la crème of New Zealand designers. Developed by well-known fashionistas Paul and Jill Blomfield, currently behind the successful Blomfield Fashion Showroom and popular Sunday Star-Times Designer Garage Sale, Curate will operate as a micro department store that showcases the full breadth of New Zealand fashion.

Britomart’s most exclusive shopping destination will include leading labels such as Sylvester by Kate Sylvester, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Taylor, Sabatini, Salasai, Chaos & Harmony and many more. Each designer will have their own exclusive space in which they have complete control over, offering consumers a unique selection of garments personally selected by the designers themselves.

From concept to a fully-fledged retail space, the Blomfield’s have executed the project in just eight weeks to be open in time for the Rugby World Cup period. Set to be the only retail space in Auckland of its kind, Curate will exclusively showcase over 15 New Zealand designers hand-picked by the Blomfield team for their unique aesthetics. The space will be completed with a selection of one-off paintings by Matt Arbuckle which will also be available to buy.

Located centrally in the Britomart precinct, Curate will be instantly recognisable by its stunning black building which is illuminated at night. Curate can be found at 5a Gore Street, Britomart, (next to Britomart Country Club).
