Gorman x Rhys Lee

Australian designer, Lisa Gorman has collaborated with local Melbourne artist and good friend, Rhys Lee to create a limited edition range as part of her latest spring/ summer 12/13 collection.

Known for his distinctive colour palette of deep greys, sharp electric blues and washed out gelati hues as well as sculpture work that stirs the mind in a beautifully haunting way, the pair couldn’t be better matched for a collaboration with results that are in perfect harmony with Gorman’s highly coveted aesthetic. The twenty-one piece collection features six of Lee's bright prints, from rainbow droplets to a kooky hand print, in a range of Gorman silhouettes.

Hailwood for Mi Piaci

Acclaimed local designer Adrian Hailwood has teamed up with exclusive footwear boutique, Mi Piaci to create a range that is the answer to every shoe-a-holic’s prayers. Five limited edition classic shoe styles are reimagined with a signature Hailwood twist, including edgy ankle boots, courts with attitude and outrageously gorgeous snake print sandals.

“The collection is fashion forward and reflects the Hailwood aesthetic, with a refined touch. "I was influenced by the late ‘60s and early ‘70s in a post-pop art America, as you’ll see with the likes of the Empire State heel and the patchwork suede Montana boot,” says Hailwood.

The collection was launched at Hailwood’s show at New Zealand Fashion Week with the limited range now available in selected Mi Piaci stores nationwide as well as online at mipiaci.co.nz.

House of Holland Eyewear

Brit Brand, House of Holland has announced the release of their first eyewear collection. Known for a cheeky attitude and humorous digs at fashion, the new House of Holland Eyewear collection stays true to the brand's irreverent aesthetic.

House of Holland founder & designer Henry Holland says “I'm so excited to show everyone the collection. I'm really proud of what we have achieved and think this is the perfect way to introduce House of Holland into the world of sunnies.”

The twenty-two piece collection is a nod to Henry's sense of humour, with quirky shapes and classic House of Holland irony supported by its campaign shot in Los Angeles on a rooftop overlooking the Hollywood Hills. The Campaign features girl of the moment, Iggy Azalea who screams personality and attitude in the same way the frames do says Henry.

With a design aesthetic that has been described as ‘strong yet feminine, Classic yet contemporary’, Mary-Ellen Prendergast of the up-and-coming local fashion label has an easy affinity with the Ballet, exploring this artistic connection for her recent spring/ summer 2013 collection.

Mary Ellen consulted with RNZB Development Manager, Michal McKay in finding the right dancer to carry the project, with the two ultimately deciding on sylphlike 23 year-old Katherine Grange. “Her grace made her ideal for the film and her beauty and femininity meant she was a perfect fit for the brand,” says Mary Ellen, Shen.
