Overview

There's so much to uncover at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park. If you're keen to get your steps in, there are four marked walking trails — suitable for all levels of fitness and wheelchair users — as well as bike trails, tree canopy walks, kayaking and boat tours available.

The park is on the grounds of Rockingham's historical estate. Castle Island has been referenced in texts dating back to the 1100s when the area was home to the Kings of Moylurg, the McDermott family, who resided on Castle Island (formerly called The Rock).

Today, it's a bustling park for groups and families of all sizes looking for a great day out in nature.
