Overview

Tucked into the banks of Lough Derg, Mountshannon is a charming harbour village suited to long days by the lake.

Neighbouring the marina is a sandy beach where you can dry off and chill for the afternoon. From the marina, you can also hop on a ferry to the uninhabited Holy Island (Inis Cealtra) On the island, you'll encounter the monastic ruins of a round tower, high crosses and several churches.
