Saltee Islands
These isolated islands are a haven for grey seals and sea birds, including the colourful puffin.
Overview
Off the coast of County Wexford are the Saltee Islands — a pair of charming green specks appropriately named Great Saltee and Little Saltee.
Since the islands have been unoccupied by people since the early 20th century, they are an oasis for seabirds and seals. Ferries depart daily from the mainland from 11.30am until 4pm only, offering you a chance to experience some of Ireland's most isolated landscapes.
