Overview

It might be a speck on the map, but Spiddal (An Spidéal) is a magical destination for encountering Irish culture. The town is entrenched in the largest Irish-speaking region (Gaeltacht) in the country. Expect all signposts to be as Gaeilge (in Irish).

Set on the edge of Galway Bay, the village teems with local creativity. Landmarks like the Spiddal Craft Village and Café overflow with pottery, jewellery, paintings, musical instruments and more.

As the sun begins to set, head to Spiddal Beach (Tra Mhor)  to admire the coastal scenery.
