Overview

Established by Viking raiders in 914, Waterford is Ireland's oldest city. This remarkable legacy remains obvious through the Viking Triangle — a medieval city quarter featuring 1000-year-old stone fortifications.

Check out the visitor's centre for immersive experiences — including a VR tour of Viking-era Waterford.

Culminating with Reginald's Tower, recognised as Ireland's oldest civil building, heading up the spiral stairs, presents historic prison cells and artefacts from Waterford's Viking past.
