It's what Melbourne is known for: having a drink on the top of one of its city buildings as you see out the day in style. We know there are many to choose from, so in partnership with Jim Beam, we've put together a list of four rooftop bars where you can find something a little different — from cheeseburgers in old tram carriages to cocktails above a Chinese restaurant.

Fitzroy’s The Provincial Hotel slings pub meals and drinks all week long. Try out its crispy fried haloumi or the hearty scotch fillet steak sanga while you wait for your drinks to arrive. You can order a Jim Beam with soda and lemon from its QR Code menu. You won’t have to leave your seat, with staff bringing drinks straight to you. Celebrating? You can book a table, or hire the whole venue via its function page.

You may know it as one of Melbourne’s famed burger venues, but did you know it also serves up some amazing cocktails? High up in the sky, Easey’s is where you can take a seat in an old tram carriage above Collingwood and order American-style eats like its cheeseburger with a smashed beef patty, American cheddar, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and secret burger sauce. On the drinks front, you can order a Jim Beam with soda, or shake it up with peach iced tea. And in true US style, it has thick shakes in caramel, coffee, banana and vanilla, too.

Located above a Chinese restaurant in the Denyers building in Melbourne’s CBD, Goldilocks Bar has drinks flowing for post-work drinks. With a strong focus on recycling and sustainability, Goldilocks Bar is an eco-conscious space with great service to match. It’s also small, and you can’t currently book tables, so make sure you leave the office early to grab a chair from 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

Point yourself in the direction of Hardware Lane to find the long-standing Melbourne rooftop bar, Campari House. Established in 1967, this bar is perfect for a late-night drink or a catch-up with friends thanks to its central location. It has an extensive Italian-style menu, with pumpkin gnocchi, prawn linguini and salami pizzas coming out of the kitchen every night of the week. For bigger groups, or for those throwing a party, you can also book the rooftop for an event.
