Organisers of frothing dance party, Our:House, have announced a new festival spinoff to welcome summer. The appropriately-titled Summerfest will take place on Saturday, December 2 at Mt Smart Stadium. It's being touted as "Auckland's biggest open-air nightclub" and will serve the masses with multiple stages and zones showcasing a roster of world-renowned international electronic artists and local favourites. The first act announced for the one-day event is part man, part mouse, part DJ, deadmau5. For his headline appearance the Canadian beat-maker and producer will take the mainstage with one of the most transformative stages in the world, The Cube 2.1. A masterstroke of engineering, the stage has been said to produce one of the "most unique concert experiences of all time." Weighing over four tonnes, the multi-million-dollar contraption is made up of 42 video panels that create a hyper-colour rubix cube of visuals and light. Deadmau5 himself suggests that the level of brightness is capable of "fucking your retinas". Further acts will be announced soon. Our:House Summerfest will open at 2pm and run into the wee hours of the morning. For more information and tickets, visit the Our:House website.
