An interactive paper sculpture that printers said couldn't be made, Jonathon Safran Foer's latest Tree of Codes has been successfully created by Belgian publishing house Die Keure. The book, which one presumes will be tricky to read and easily torn, was made by die-cutting pages of The Street of Crocodiles to create another story altogether, in a form that is beautiful, interesting, and that is a work of art in itself, not merely a medium for creativity. Though not the first to create a book of individually die-cut pages, Safran Foer has still managed to create a work that will continue to divide his readers on the genius/wanker line. Tree of Codes is available from Visual Editions. https://youtube.com/watch?v=dsW3Y7EmTlo
