Tim Burton is writing a story and he needs your assistance. Think your ideas are something else? Signed up to Twitter? Well then it seems you’re more than qualified for this job! The highly lauded director has given idea-makers until the 6 December to submit their story ‘tweets’ which could ultimately become part of the final Twitter short story. Each day’s best story lines are given the green-light by Burton himself. The tale is all about an unassuming hero called ‘Stainboy’ which began with the Batman director's very own tweet: "Stainboy, using his obvious expertise, was called in to investigate mysterious glowing goo on the gallery floor #BurtonStory". The theme is an obvious choice for the macabre director who has made a name for himself creating dark movies such as Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow. So tweet as often as you like and remember to read the work in progress on the site, aptly entitled Cadavre Exquis. Cadavre Exquis, Burton explains, is a method to collectively tell a story. But the eccentric director's idea is nothing new. The Streets’ lyricist Mike Skinner has been collaborating with listeners via Twitter for more than a year, proving that social media really can break down barriers and make you a star. Who’d have thought that 140-character submissions could have so much potential? Cadavre Exquis
