Overview
One of the most important days of the year is almost here: the AFL Grand Final 2023 will see Collingwood and Brisbane go head to head this coming Saturday. It's set to be a match for the ages, with the Lions and the Magpies ready to do battle for the seventh time in AFL premiership history. If you've come down with a case of finals fever, fret not, for a series of top-notch events are setting the stage for the game to come at The Carlton Quarter.
The Carlton Quarter is a precinct built by beer icons Carlton Draught and Carlton Dry and the AFL itself, set up mere metres from the doors of the MCG to spend three nights celebrating our city's favourite sporting event with great food and, of course, beer aplenty. From Thursday, September 28, to full-time on the night itself, Saturday, September 30, it'll be one hot ticket for footy fans.
Celebrations start at 6pm on Thursday, September 28, with Carlton Dry Presents Hot Dub Time Machine, the master of the decks imported from Drylandia alongside other popular Aussie DJs to soundtrack a Grand Final Eve party for the history books. Tunes will be blasting until 10pm — making it a perfect sendoff to the work week. The icing on the cake? Use code CP25 when you're booking tickets, and you'll get a juicy 25% off your booking to see Hot Dub Time Machine.
Then, once you've made the most of your public holiday, head back to The Carlton Quarter for The Grand Final Eve Roast, a powerful combination of footy, comedy and beer. AFL legends Peter Daicos and Jack Riewoldt will be at the mercy of 'Strauchanie' (who looks suspiciously like Peter Helliar) for a roasting of Grand Final proportions. It's not just verbal roasts; you'll enjoy roasted meals with a Carlton brew in hand until 9.30pm.
Finally, the day itself, where it's all come down to. Tension and excitement at the season high. Will the Magpies defend their home ground, or will the Lions return to Queensland victorious? We can't say for sure, but what we can say is The Carlton Quarter will be open from 11am to 8pm to celebrate all things AFL Grand Final. Expect pre-game entertainment, live music, big screens, an AFL and AFLW panel and multiple bar and food options, all metres from the entrance and within earshot of the roaring crowd.
AFL Grand Final Week at The Carlton Quarter runs from Thursday, September 28 to Saturday, September 30. For more information and to book tickets, visit the website.
