Overview

Melbourne singer/songwriter Ali Barter has recently released her second EP, Community, and it’s a wonderful collision of genres that has allowed Barter to create a style of her own. Lead single, ‘Community’ is a dark and sexy debut with an awesome video clip to boot. After supporting the likes of Husky and Phosphorescent last year, it’s time for Ali to headline her own gigs, and where better to do that than her hometown?

Ali has often drawn comparisons with the likes of Cat Power and Laura Marling, but if we may be so bold, we think she possesses a darker, rockier edge than her predecessors have yet to conquer with conviction. And to that, we take our hats off to you, Miss Barter. If you want to see what we’re talking about, head to The Workers Club and see for yourselves. For under $15 a ticket, it’s a steal.
