ANZ's Tennis Ball Mural
Check out a huge pop-up artwork crafted from tennis balls, while enjoying free scoops of Piccolina's finest.
Overview
Large-scale art, scoops of gelato and a few thousand tennis balls. It seems like an unlikely trio, but it might just be the ultimate summer combination for this particularly sweaty Melbourne week. The above have come together for a special Australian Open-inspired activation at Federation Square's River Terrace, hosted by ANZ and open to the public from Friday, January 21–Wednesday, January 26.
Head there now and you'll catch a striking eight-metre mural by Archibald Prize-nominated artist Felix Von Dallwitz, depicting his good mate and world quad tennis champion Dylan Alcott OAM. Completed over the weekend, the unique artwork was created using more than 4000 tennis balls.
What's more, if you're heading along for a peek, you can keep your cool with a cheeky free gelato courtesy of Piccolina. The local gelato masters are handing out complimentary scoops from 3–6pm each day of the activation. You'll need to take one of ANZ's financial wellbeing surveys to score your treat, though you don't have to be a bank customer.
