Australia 01 House
The two-day pop-up celebrates Australian art, design and landscapes.
Overview
Pantone Colour Institute and Koala's furniture designers have distilled Australia's landscape in a single shade – Australia 01, an earthy green pulled from eucalyptus canopy, coastal scrub and the shifting Southern Hemisphere light. Catch it in person this weekend in a public pop-up filled with furniture, art, books and florals.
Styled by Emma Sandral, Koala's exclusive Australia 01 range will furnish a Fitzroy house. You'll notice that the pieces look bright and airy in natural sunlight, before deepening into something warmer by dusk.
Koala's Global Head of Product Design, Alexandra Owen, describes the bushland-inspired shade as "ultimately a celebration of place".

Australia 01 House doubles as an art exhibition, showcasing work from three local artists. Shannon Heath paints in a joyful pastel palette from Bundjalung Country, while Dan Kyle's niche lies in landscapes painted near his Blue Mountains studio. And Niah McLeod is a Monero, Wandandian, and Yuin contemporary artist known for creations that meditate on Country, connection and emotion.
The trio were commissioned by Koala to create works inspired by Australia 01 and the landscape down under. They'll be displayed for two days and auctioned off, with all proceeds going towards conservation efforts by the Indigenous-led Karrkad Kanjdji Trust.

Expect a curated stack of literature on Australian art, design and landscape from Fiend Bookshop, alongside floral arrangements from Collingwood-based XFLOS. The florist will also host a native botanical appreciation workshop across two daily sessions, running from 10.30am–12pm and 12.30pm–2.30pm.
Drop by from 12.30pm–2.30pm for a quiet contemplation session, soundtracked to ambient mixes by Brunswick's Tender Place.
Australia 01 House is located at 17 Victoria Street, Fitzroy. It will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, July 17, and Sunday, July 18.
