Australia's craft beer scene loves a good collaboration brew — especially when it sees one of our home-grown heroes teaming up with an international label on some cool and quirky drop. But you won't ever have seen quite as many of these cross-cultural beer projects all in the one place, as you will at the inaugural Carwyn Collaborational International Beer Festival.

Descending on beer, bar and bottle shop Carwyn Cellars on Saturday, October 24, this one's set to be part street party, part brew fest, with plenty of unique sips in store. It'll see 12 local breweries each paired up with an esteemed international label to create some one-off beer magic. Many of these collaboration brews will be pouring at the festival, with others to be released at later dates.

Across one of two sessions (11am–3pm or 4–8pm), you'll get to sample limited-release drops from locals like Victoria's Mr. Banks Brewing Co and Hawkers Beer, Range Brewing out of Queensland, Tasmania's Ocho Beer and Western Australia's Otherside Brewing Co, along with overseas heavyweights like Stillwater Artisanal from the USA, the UK's Cloudwater Brew Co, Dutch label Brouwerij de Molen and New Zealand mates Garage Project. For some of the international players, it'll be their first time ever pouring in Australia.

Tickets are $85, which includes entry and $30 worth of beer samples and a branded tasting glass to keep. The fun's set to spill out from the bar and beer garden onto Blythe Street, with a slew of local food vendors also on hand to help line your stomach.

Carwyn Collaborational sessions run from 11am–3pm and 4–8pm.
