Overview

One of Australia's leading hip hop dance artists will present a bold and explosive new work at Art Centre Melbourne's Playhouse Rehearsal Room this weekend.

Sydney-based dancer and choreographer Nick Power has helped nurture young and emerging dancers from all around the country. In Cypher, audiences will get the chance to get up close and personal with Power's craft, as they form the circle, or 'cipher', in which four world-class dancers including former Australia's Got Talent grand finalist Stephen Gow battle for supremacy.

Backed by a booming soundtrack from electronic music specialist Jack Prest aka Future Love Hangover, the hour-long show promises to explore "the raw energy and culture" of a unique style of dance.
