UPDATE: MARCH 24, 2020 — Duke Street Block Party 2020 has been postponed to Saturday, November 28 'in light of the situation with COVID-19, specifically the ban of non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people'. While most of the acts remain the same, Mildlife will no longer be performing. The below article has been updated to reflect this. One balmy day this spring, a normally quiet pocket of Abbotsford is set to come alive when it plays host to a rollicking, tune-filled block party.

On Saturday, November 28, Duke Street Block Party will return for a second year, this time taking over not only its namesake street but also Bond Street and Southhampton Crescent. So, there's much more room for dancing.

Resident businesses will be opening their doors for a series of one-off activations again, too, with crafty brews at Moon Dog Brewery, a local design showcase and pop-up wine bar at Hub Furniture and snacks from the likes of Good Gnocchi, Nhu Lan Bakery and Real Jerk Chicken.

Meanwhile, touring agency Crown Ruler, PBS 106.7FM and Melbourne collective Untitled Group — the peeps behind Beyond the ValleyPitch Music & ArtsAbility Fest — are teaming up to deliver one heck of a music lineup.

Dishing up a broad range of musical goodness will be Detroit techno producer Theo Parrish, along with dancehall DJ Sister Nancy, Mella Dee, Anastasia Kristensen and Mwanje Tembo. They'll be joined by a swag of local favourites, including Cassettes For Kid, Lord Echo and Wax'o Paradiso.

Duke Street Block Party runs from 12–10pm. For tickets, head here.
