Overview

UPDATE: MARCH 13, 2020 — Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has postponed its March program. The organisers are intending to reschedule the program for a later date in 2020. Ticketholders will be contacted about refunds in the upcoming weeks.

Potatoes can be transformed into many different dishes, but is there any more glorious than the humble chip? Sliced into slivers, baked or fried, and served toasty warm, they go perfectly with everything from fish to burgers — and, whether you like prefer fries or wedges, shoestring or crinkle-cut chips, or plain or chicken salt, they're mighty nice all by themselves, too.

Chips are also rather difficult to stop eating. Once you start, you just want to keep munching. So, at Maximum Chips, you won't have to control yourself. For one potato-filled night as part of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival — from 5pm on Friday, March 20 at Shed X at Queen Victoria Market, to be specific — all-you-can-eat chips is on the menu.

Your $35 ticket includes multiple varieties of chips and as much of each as you can handle — plus sauces and other condiments, of course. You'll also receive a drink upon arrival, but bring your card to purchase more (it's a cashless event). Entertainment is on the agenda, too, while you're scoffing down all those potato pieces.
