Sauna Sessions at Moon Dog Beach Club
Trading sun loungers for sauna benches, this winter time collab invites guests to sweat it out, then sip a cold one at the bar.
Overview
Beach clubs and winter don't usually go hand in hand. But a new partnership between Frankston's Moon Dog Beach Club and BitterSweat — known for their mobile sauna and ice bath — means this coastal beer garden will remain toastier than most during the coldest months of the year. Unveiling a fully functioning wood-fired sauna on Moon Dog's balcony beer garden, guests are invited to sweat it out in the sauna and cool down with an icy Nordic drench bucket.
Inspired by the Finnish tradition 'Saunakalja' — trust the Finns to have a word that literally translates to "sauna beer" — expect an experience that pairs feel-good wellness with social bliss. That means you're welcome to reward all this relaxation with a free pot at the bar, a just prize for enduring all that heat. Swing by to choose from a selection of beer, Fizzer Seltzer or a non-alcoholic option. Of course, there's also plenty of classic pub grub to enjoy, too.

Launching on Saturday, June 6, and operating from Friday–Sunday to begin, private sessions are available for between six and 12 guests. So, book ahead, pack your togs and a change of clothes and get ready for immense refreshment. Meanwhile, if you're keen to visit with a smaller group, you can book drop-in spots for a shared session. On-site, you'll find changing rooms, towels and storage, plus an outdoor shower for rinsing off.
"As we head into our second winter in Frankston, we wanted to reinvent the space in a way that feels warm, inviting, social, fun and uniquely Moon Dog," says Brook Hornung, Sales and Marketing Director at Moon Dog. "Launching at the perfect time — the first weekend of winter, we love the idea of combining a traditional sauna experience with the social energy of your local pub. It's all about bringing people together during the colder months."
