Overview

A new moving image work at ACMI will put you on stage with some of the greatest dancers in the country. Well, sort of. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Matthew Bate and ex-Chunky Move artistic director Gideon Obarzanek, Stuck in the Middle with You is ACMI's first ever virtual reality installation, throwing viewers into the centre of a performance by the Sydney Dance Company.

The free experience will be open to the public March 5 to 14. Donning a VR headset, viewers find themselves not only watching, but interacting with the dancers, before eventually becoming part of the performance themselves. Get ready to bust out your best moves — and forget who in the real world might be watching.

ACMI will also present a public discussion panel with Obarzanek and several members of the production team on Sunday, March 6.
