Food trucks, one venue, extended hours and a fully stocked bar.

Overview

Everyone wants to get their hands on a roaming taco or moving gumbo. But sometimes it can be difficult to pin a food truck down, and it can be annoying arriving at 6pm on the dot with the rest of the hungry mob in the hope they don't run out before you get to the front.

Well, Trailer Park, pulled together my Jess Pryles (aka Burger Mary), is trying to bring the food vans to the people, in a more civilised and comfortable way. Trailer park will bring a fleet of food trucks together for set times (Saturday and Sundays from noon-8pm) along with seating and a full bar. It's like a food court outdoors, with already loved names.

The opening weekend of August will see Beatbox Kitchen, Cornutopia, Gumbo Kitchen, The Curry Truck and the newcomer The Brulee Cart. Other features down the road will include Chingon and White Guy Cooks Thai. Village Melbourne's fully stocked bar will be serving up liquids including wine, craft beer and Largaritas — a margarita topped with beer.

Choice, eight hours of solid food truck fun, beer and undercover seating: it's a Melbournian's dream.
