Overview

Nothing clears your head like an escape to the country, and Healesville Sanctuary is offering a unique opportunity to get back to nature without forsaking the creature comforts of fine wine and gourmet flavour.

The annual 'Wine & Wildlife' event runs from 11am–4pm each day over the Queen's Birthday long weekend (Saturday, June 8 to Monday, June 10), spotlighting the best food, wine and friendly fauna of the Yarra Valley. Samples from top-tier local wine producers and breweries are included in the ticket price, as are the encounters with sanctuary wildlife. For drinks, you can expect St Ronan's Cider, Cherry Hill Orchards, Detour Beer Co. and many more local producers. There'll also be a mulled wine bar, guaranteed to put a rose in your wintery cheek.

Whichever tipple you prefer, they'll pair perfectly with tastings at Kennedy & Wilson Chocolate Bar. For heartier fare, Sanctuary Harvest is cooking up chill-banishing dishes, including K&B BBQ meats and steamed buttered corn. If that isn't heart-warming enough, all proceeds from ticket sales go towards saving Tasmanian Devils from extinction. With live music, lawn games and open fires to snuggle around amidst gorgeous bushland, it's the perfect day out for any nature-lover who craves a winter indulgence.

Wine & Wildlife will take place across Saturday, June 8–Monday, June 10. To purchase tickets, visit the website.
