World Tour Bushfire Relief — CANCELLED
Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X and The Veronicas are headlining a big bushfire relief concert in Melbourne.
Overview
UPDATE: MARCH 10, 2020 — Miley Cyrus has cancelled her trip to Australia, and her performance at this week's World Tour Bushfire Relief, due to health concerns surround COVID-19. The US pop star took to Twitter to make the announcement, saying the decision was made after consulting "local, state, federal and international authorities, including the Center for Disease Control". Cyrus said that she will still be making a donation to help the victims of the bushfires. As a result, the charity concert has itself been cancelled. All fans will receive a full refund.
Just one week after Queen, John Farnham and Celeste Barber came together for huge bushfire relief Fire Fight in Sydney, Melbourne has announced its own star-studded charity concert. Taking over Lakeside Stadium on Friday, March 13, the World Tour Bushfire Relief will be headlined by the one and only Miley Cyrus.
Expect giant foam fingers, wrecking balls and plenty of hits — like 'Party in The U.S.A.' and 'We Can't Stop' — when the American singer and actress heads to Albert Park to perform for a good cause next month. She'll be joined by some more big names, too: country music star Lil Nas X (of 'Old Town Road' fame), Aussie pop duo The Veronicas and DJ Seb Fontaine.
Money raised will go to the WWF Australian Wildlife and Nature Recovery Fund, and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
The one-night charity concert will take place alongside the 2020 Grand Prix, but tickets to both events will be sold separately. The World Tour Bushfire Relief concert is also part of the newly announced World Tour series, a multi-city series of concerts, which currently also includes a Robbie Williams show in Melbourne.
Would Tour Bushfire Relief tickets go on sale at 2pm AEDT on Tuesday, February 25 via Ticketek.
