The first Little Red Dumpling opened at Sunnybank Hills back in 2014, and the concept has grown into more than 20 stores across southeast Queensland since, backed by a dedicated refrigerated production facility that keeps every store stocked with the same handmade dumplings. The CBD store keeps that formula going underground, with a menu built around dumplings folded to order — classic pork and chive, chicken and prawn with corn, and a black truffle xiao long bao alongside the standard pork version. Pan-fried wagyu soup buns, cumin-spiced lamb ribs and a flaky shallot pancake round out the rest of the small plates. Drinks lean into the theme too: Tsing Tao by the bottle, alongside playful extras like a Milo dinosaur and lychee soda for anyone skipping the beer. Beyond the CBD, the chain now stretches from Sunnybank Hills and West End to Newmarket, Cannon Hill, Maroochydore and Coomera, each one running the same tight, dumpling-first menu. Images: Supplied.
