Good Gnocchi

A Collingwood hole-in-wall serving hot trays of gnocchi for lunch and dinner.

Collingwood's hot new hole-in-the-wall gnocchi destination isn't your typical neighbourhood pasta joint. Sure, Good Gnocchi is slinging some top-notch takes on its namesake dish, but the space itself is not much more than a tiny takeaway window and the kitchen, which is manned by owner James Eddy.

As such, the items on Eddy's short but sweet menu are only available to go. Choose from a handful of $15 gnocchi options — think butter sage, walnut pesto and a classic bolognese number. All can come extra cheesy on request, or paired with garlic bread for an extra four bucks. Thankfully, a vegan gluten-free pumpkin gnocchi is also up for grabs.

It's hot, fast and a solid antidote to a sad desk sandwich. And it's already proving a serious hit with local lunchbreakers looking for comfort food as the winter weather starts to rolls in.

Keep your eyes peeled also for a three-cheese gnocchi and an Italian-inspired banh mi, both of which will be hitting the menu soon, along with some vacuum-sealed, ready-to-cook dinner packs that you can pick up on your way home.
