Overview

Melbourne's hotel restaurants have undergone somewhat of a transformation in the last few years. Swanky destination spots are making a well-deserved name for themselves, and stereotypically tired room-service chicken dishes or clammy scrambled eggs are nowhere in sight.

This is the case for Lollo, W Melbourne's flagship eatery and one of its four onsite hospitality venues. Headed up by creative culinary director Adam D'Sylva (Coda and Tonka), the impressive 110-seat venue boasts your choice of spots by the open kitchen. Alternatively, make a beeline for azure leather booths with views of Flinders Lane — an appealing choice for a private business lunch.

There is plenty to impress on the all-day menu, from duck liver pate served with pickled blueberry; burrata and heirloom tomato with grilled roti; or baked cone barra with leeks, pangritata and Nonna's herb marinade. But the real star of the menu here is the freshly baked duck lasagne, stuffed with layers of pesto and herby bechamel, wrapped up in ragu-soaked roulades.
