Yoku Ono Ramen + Sake
This Prahran ramen joint is known for its rich and creamy slow-cooked broth.
UPDATE: AUGUST 26, 2020 — Yoku is still open for takeaway from 5–8pm Wednesday–Sunday for those living within five-kilometres of the store. You can head online or call (03) 9533 2218 to order. Prefer delivery? You'll find that over on Deliveroo.
A ramen and a sake bar is just the ticket for cold weather. Why? Liquid dinners abound — in both forms. Nothing warms you up more than a hot bowl of ramen and a tumbler full of sake, and they're a beautiful pair made especially to heat your cold and tired bones.
Pick from one of 15 different sake varieties, then move on to the ramen. The speciality at this Prahran restaurant is the chicken broth ramen. Cooked over eight hours, it's rich and creamy and, turns out, could be the magical health remedy you've been searching for your whole life. No big deal. It's then topped with chicken thigh or pork belly — or, if you like it spicy, with a chilli-heavy pork mince.
Vegetarians and vegan are well catered for here, too, with the restaurants signature meat-free broth made with 20 different vegetables, mushrooms and herbs.
